Project Bolt

We are pleased to announce that our experiment THHOR’s BOLT has been shortlisted for this year’s REXUS/BEXUS Selection Workshop. This gives our team the opportunity to present BOLT to a committee of experts and fellow student teams at the DLR headquarters in Bonn.

About REXUS/BEXUS

REXUS/BEXUS is a European student program enabling universities to design, build, and fly experiments on sounding rockets (REXUS) or high-altitude balloons (BEXUS). The program is run by the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Swedish National Space Agency (SNSA), with support from the ESA Education Office. For student teams, it provides a structured framework for developing aerospace experiments from concept to flight, including technical reviews, expert guidance, and the opportunity to launch at Esrange Space Center in northern Sweden.

What this means for THHOR

Being shortlisted places BOLT among the most promising submissions of this cycle and marks an important milestone for our team. At the Selection Workshop, we will present and defend our technical concept, demonstrate feasibility, and show that we can carry the experiment through the full mission lifecycle.

Looking ahead

We are currently refining our presentation and preparing for the review in Bonn. Regardless of the final outcome, being invited to the workshop is a significant achievement and an important step in THHOR’s development as a student space team.

Build with THHOR

We welcome students across disciplines who are ready to ship hardware and software to space. In addition to that we are also looking for people eager to run our outreach campaign, communicate with Partners or do other "non-technical" stuff.
